I release today a new version of my XNA viewer. Take a look here: There is a lot of improvements ;-) First, to install it, you must have:
Then, download PHXNA Viewer. (9Mo). Unzip this download in the viewers directory (%ProjectHoshimiSDK folder%\viewers). Launch Project Hoshimi, go to Options section and select PHXNAViewer as your default viewer. Then, ENJOY ;-))) What's new in this version? On the bottom left, you can see a mini map of the tissue. There is a new button which allow you to show/hide points infos. You can now select a Nanobot by right clicking on it. On the bottom right of the screen, if you click on the Selected Bot button, you'll see in real time informations about this bot. Clicking on it and the camera will be centered on it. You can see now streams (but performances are not good and I still don't like it). Explosions are not yet implemented. I hope you'll appreciate this new viewer and if you have any comments, please, tell me. (I'm also very interested in the framerate). November 22 New article from RaptorXP about distancesCalculating distances is important in Project Hoshimi, especially if you create your own Pathfinding algorithm (and if you want to win Project Hoshimi, you MUST create your own pathfinding algorithm ;-))). So RaptorXP (last year winner) wrote a new article about that. November 21 Small Competition 1: First resultsWahoo, il just take a look at the first results of Small Competition 1 and actually, the best AND maximum score possible was done with a Discovery Strategy. Congratulations to Vasiljevski who did it ;-))) November 20 Project Hoshimi 2007 TrailerThomas, from Microsoft France, have created a great trailer for Project Hoshimi. You can see photos and videos showing you how exciting this event is... (I was there at the begining in Barcelona ;-))) October 20 Project Hoshimi 2007 SDK RC2 AvailableI have upload the latest build of the SDK. You can find in it a new section called Pro. So now, there is 3 categories:
Pros is like Beginners: in a "simple" (but not so simple ;-)) interface, you can create a powerfull strategy. In this category, you have access to all kind of Nanobots (including Wall and IPCreator), all their methods (like OpenIP, ForceAutoDestruction, etc.). Try it (even if you are a developer) because you can lean a lot with it. In Pros and Developers categories, you can now choose the AI for Pierre. In Developers category, you have now access to the old CSAutomate: it's very usefull if you want to test a lot of strategy during the night:
It will launch all the game, one by one, in a console application, and save the Replays and the Results. You can go to sleep (or eat) when games are playing. You don't see anything on the screen but the game are really running. To look at the Results, go in Replays menu (Main -> Replays) and clic on the Result you're interested. You'll see all the statistics like your score, details about nanobots remaining at the end of the game, etc. I hope you'll enjoy this RC2 and please, give me your feedbacks. Richard Clark.
